We are seeking a part time dedicated ASCP-certified Histotechnician or Histotechnologist to join our team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a small, fast-paced laboratory, where you will perform a variety of essential histotechnological tasks related to the preparation and analysis of dermatopathology specimens.
Key Responsibilities
Perform a combination of histotechnological tasks, including grossing, embedding, microtomy, staining, immunohistochemistry, Mohs surgery techniques and transcription.
Adapt to varying histotechnological tasks and prioritize workflow efficiently throughout the day.
Collaborate with multiple teams to support the diagnostic needs of our dermatology clinics.
Ensure high standards of quality and accuracy in all laboratory procedures and histotechnological tasks.
Maintain the diagnostic viability of all specimens.
Ensure accurate patient labeling and routinely verify that surgical case numbers match corresponding blocks and slides.
Prepare special stains and solutions as needed.
Assist in maintaining compliance with CAP regulations, CLIA regulations and quality control standards.
Ensure compliance with all local, federal, CLIA, and CAP regulations.
Qualifications
ASCP certification as a Histotechnician or Histotechnologist is required.
Previous experience in a histopathology or dermatopathology laboratory is preferred but not mandatory.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality results.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
Flexibility to perform multiple tasks throughout the day.
Highly motivated and able to work independently.
All laboratory personnel are required to maintain schedule flexibility.
