Mount Saint Mary College
is an independent liberal arts institution located in New York’s scenic Hudson Valley. Founded by the Dominican Sisters of Newburgh, the Mount is committed to educating students for lives of leadership, service, and lifelong learning through close student-faculty engagement. The Mount’s highly recognized, Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accredited nursing program has been educating future nurses for over 60 years. Mount Saint Mary College offers both traditional and non-traditional Bachelor of Science nursing programs and an RN-to-BSN program. The Mount offers masters and post-masters certificate programs in Nurse Practitioner Family Health, Gerontology, and Psychiatric Mental Health, and Masters in Nursing Education degree. Position Overview The Dean of the School of Nursing provides strategic leadership for all nursing programs and serves as the School’s primary advocate within the College and the broader healthcare community. The Dean oversees academic quality, accreditation, faculty development, program expansion, budgeting, and community partnerships in alignment with the mission and values of Mount Saint Mary College.
Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership and vision for all nursing programs
Ensure compliance with CCNE and NYS accreditation standards
Oversee faculty hiring, mentoring, evaluation, and professional development
Lead program assessment, outcomes, and NCLEX performance
Manage budgets, reports, and community and clinical partnerships
Qualifications
Earned doctorate in Nursing or related field; Master’s in Nursing required
An unencumbered NYS nursing license required
3+ years of nursing education experience with advanced degree programs preferred
Demonstrated academic leadership experience (Chair, Associate/Assistant Dean, or Dean)
Eligible for academic rank of Associate Professor or higher
