Position Summary We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Ultrasound Technologist – Maternal Fetal Medicine in Garden City. In this role, the successful candidate will independently operate sonographic equipment and perform diagnostic examinations using sonography. They may also oversee daily operations of the sonographic laboratory, manage patient schedules, maintain equipment, and conduct quality assessment (QA). The technologist upholds a high standard of medical ethics and is self‑motivated to continuously increase their knowledge of the field, diseases, and new procedures.
Job Responsibilities
Perform other duties as assigned.
Operate ultrasound equipment to acquire diagnostic images of specific body areas as ordered; produce images for physician interpretation; demonstrate thorough knowledge of ultrasound equipment.
Ensure quality review of images falls within department SOP guidelines.
Perform high‑level disinfection for compliance across all Maternal Fetal Medicine locations.
Use the PACS system to make images available to the physician; create a minimum number of exceptions.
Accurately code exams and complete them in a timely fashion.
Assist in the care and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and supplies; report any equipment problems to the supervisor promptly.
Instruct and supervise ultrasound students during clinical practicum; perform exams and image evaluation with students.
Minimum Qualifications To qualify you must have a technical diploma from an accredited 2‑year ultrasound program; current certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in OB/GYN; certification in Nuchal Translucency and Nasal Bone within 12 months of hire; thorough knowledge of ultrasound equipment; strong written and oral communication; excellent analytical problem‑solving skills; exemplary customer service; advanced computer skills.
Required Licenses Nuchal Translucency‑Nasal Bone, Nuchal Translucency Cert, Diag Med Sonographer – OB/GYN.
Preferred Qualifications Certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in Fetal Echocardiography; 3–5 years experience as an OB/GYN ultrasound technologist; knowledge of EPIC EHR and ASOB ultrasound reporting system.

Salary Transparency NYU Langone Health provides a salary range of $109,843.14 – $121,079.14 annually for this role. Actual salaries may vary based on experience, specialty, education, and hospital needs. The range does not include bonuses, differential pay, or other compensation.
