Position Summary
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Ultrasound Technologist in Maternal Fetal Medicine. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for the independent operation of sonographic equipment, performing diagnostic examinations using sonography, managing the sonographic laboratory, patient schedule, equipment maintenance, reports of equipment failures, and quality assessment (QA). The sonographer maintains a high standard of medical ethics at all times and is self-motivated to increase their level of understanding and knowledge of the field, disease(s), and new procedures as they evolve.
Job Responsibilities
Perform other duties as assigned.
Operate ultrasound equipment to take diagnostic images of specific body area parts as ordered. Produce diagnostic images for interpretation by physician. Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of ultrasound equipment.
Quality review of the technologist's images to ensure they fall within guidelines of the department's SOP.
Responsible for performing high level disinfection for compliance across all Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) locations.
Accurately utilize the PACS system to make images available to the physician for interpretation. Technologist creates a minimum number of exceptions.
Accurately utilize systems. Enter proper exam coding. Arrive and complete exams in a timely fashion.
Assist in the care and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and supplies. Report any equipment problems or malfunctions to the supervisor in a timely fashion.
Instruct and supervise ultrasound students in a clinical practicum. Work with the ultrasound student to perform exams as well as performing individual image evaluation.
Minimum Qualifications
Technical diploma from an accredited 2-year ultrasound program.
Current certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in Ob/Gyn.
Certification for Nuchal Translucency and Nasal Bone from Nuchal Translucency Quality Review within 12 months of hire.
Thorough knowledge of ultrasound equipment.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Excellent analytical problem solving skills.
Exemplary customer service skills.
Advanced computer skills.
Required Licenses: Nuchal Translucency-Nasal Bone, Nuchal Translucency Cert, Diag Med Sonographer - OB/GYN
Preferred Qualifications
Certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in Fetal Echocardiography.
3–5 years experience as an Ob/Gyn Ultrasound Technologist.
Knowledge of EPIC EHR and ASOB ultrasound reporting system.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
