Echocardiography Tech-Pediatrics-Per Diem at Northwell Health Location: New York, NY

Northwell Health is seeking an experienced Echocardiography Technician for a per diem position in Pediatrics. The successful candidate will perform a range of cardiac imaging studies and support related clinical functions.

Responsibilities

Perform 2/3 dimensional, color flow, and Doppler echocardiograms. Download images for diagnosis and record all measurements after each case.

Assist with transthoracic echocardiograms by preparing equipment, sterilizing probes, assisting in scheduling, and maintaining related logs.

Assist with transesophageal echocardiograms: prepare equipment, sterilize probes, assist with patient positioning, and record patient data.

Assist with stress echocardiograms: explain testing to patients, prepare the stress machine, acquire images, assist physicians during testing, and enter patient information into teletracking system for transport requests.

Maintain patient demographic information for video tapes and ensure scheduled studies are completed by end of day.

Contact equipment manufacturers to report malfunctions and facilitate repairs.

Order supplies, keep workspace neat and orderly.

Post next day schedules for TEE and Echo, prepare and stock exam rooms.

Perform related duties as required.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED equivalency required; Associate's Degree with completion of an ultrasound program preferred.

Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) required.

Minimum of two years related experience required, with experience in cardiac ultrasound preferred.

Knowledge of ultrasound equipment, oximeter, blood pressure monitor, echo database computer, fax machine, and telephone.

Current and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Technical proficiency in operating ultrasound equipment and using various imaging modalities (2D, 3D, Doppler) with an understanding of ultrasound physics.

Specialized knowledge of pediatric cardiac anatomy, physiology, and congenital heart disease.

Minimum of two years pediatrics echocardiography experience.
