Responsibilities: The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients. The nurse functions within the framework of policies and procedures, demonstrates professional growth and accountability, maintains standards of practice, and coordinates patient care activities of all assigned staff to provide quality nursing care.
Qualifications Education
Graduate from a nursing program (required)
Bachelors Degree (preferred)
Work Experience
No experience required; new graduates of a nursing program eligible (required)
Nursing experience in hospital setting (preferred)
1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions (required)
Licenses and Certifications
RN – Registered Nurse – Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure (required)
BCLS – Basic Life Support (required)
Additional Licenses and Certifications
Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable (see addendum)
Addendum
Cardiac Tele: ACLS Certification (required within 180 days)
Critical Care: ACLS Certification (required within 180 days)
Dialysis: CDN (preferred)
Emergency Department: ACLS and PALS Certification (required within 180 days)
Infusion/Oncology: Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification prior to independent chemotherapy administration (required at hire)
Pediatrics: PALS Certification (required within 180 days); PEARS or PALS Certification for certain hospitals (required within 180 days)
Surgical Services: PreOp/PACU/ENDO/CSU ACLS; PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients (required within 180 days); BLS required within 180 days
Women’s Services: Labor and Delivery–ACLS Certification (required within 180 days); NRP and other newborn certifications as specified (required within 180 days)
