This is a full‑time travel assignment offering a dynamic clinical environment in a regional medical center known for advanced surgical care and a collaborative team culture.
Position Summary
The CST will assist in surgical operations under the supervision of surgeons, registered nurses, and other surgical personnel. Responsibilities include preparing operating rooms, arranging equipment, and assisting during surgeries. The ideal candidate will have experience in a variety of surgical procedures and demonstrate strong attention to detail, adaptability, and commitment to patient safety.
Schedule
Shift : 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Days : Monday through Friday (with potential for weekend or on‑call shifts depending on department needs)
Key Responsibilities
Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures by setting up sterile instruments and equipment
Ensure all surgical supplies are available and properly sterilized
Assist surgeons and nurses during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
Monitor patient condition and surgical environment to ensure safety and compliance with protocols
Handle specimens for laboratory analysis as directed
Maintain accurate documentation of procedures and supply usage
Participate in post‑operative clean‑up and equipment sterilization
Qualifications
Current certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through NBSTSA
Minimum of 1 year recent experience in an acute care OR setting
BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and surgical procedures
Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment
Preferred Skills
Experience with orthopedic, cardiovascular, and general surgery cases
Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
Excellent communication and organizational skills
