DESCRIPTION
Ensure Operational Efficiency: By maintaining and troubleshooting electrical systems, you’ll help keep manufacturing processes running smoothly and efficiently.
Enhance Safety Standards: Implementing and adhering to safety protocols will protect your colleagues and the facility from electrical hazards.
Support Continuous Improvement: Your insights and feedback on electrical systems can drive improvements and innovations in manufacturing processes.
Minimize Downtime: Quick and effective repairs will reduce equipment downtime, ensuring production schedules are met.
Collaborate with Teams: Working closely with other departments, you’ll ensure electrical systems meet the needs of various projects and initiatives.
Train and Mentor: Sharing your expertise with junior electricians and other team members will build a stronger, more knowledgeable workforce.
Implement New Technologies: Staying updated with the latest electrical technologies and integrating them into the facility will enhance productivity and efficiency.
Contribute to Sustainability: By optimizing electrical systems for energy efficiency, you’ll support Cummins’ commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.
Troubleshoots, assembles, installs, tests and maintains electrical systems using all necessary tools to keep equipment available and capable. Learns and understands the protocols of working safely with electricity and other energy sources with industrial equipment. May work independently and instruct or coach others.
Key Responsibilities
Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) : Stop work and immediately report any major injury hazards. Report any work-related injury, illness, incident or hazard. Comply with HSE standards, policies, procedures and regulations. Use appropriate personal protective equipment. Promote interdependence by looking out for one another. Correct hazards within your control and capabilities. Recognize how your work may impact the environment and work to minimize the negative impact. Engage in HSE Training.
Quality : Applies high standards of workmanship and craftsmanship. Support equipment uptime and downtime failure analysis. Performs work in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals and specifications using various tools, measuring and testing instruments. Provide feedback into the Preventive Maintenance system. Follows all process documentation and quality procedures. Raises issues to minimize cost and quality exposures. Performs quality inspections.
Delivery : Fully proficient performing troubleshooting, electrical repairs and maintenance of equipment. Conforms to applicable codes and standards to maintain, install, and operate electrical systems. Instructs and coaches others and acts as an informal resource for team members with less capability. Maintains clean and orderly work area, including routine housekeeping and machine cleaning tasks. Performs other duties as required to meet business goals. Work with peers and support staff to identify and reduce manufacturing constraints, schedule maintenance activities around production requirements, solve problems and improve processes, participate in continuous improvement activities.
Teamwork : Communicates effectively with the assigned team and with all support teams. Completes training and personal development in line with business requirements. Participates actively with local Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) teams in ways to improve quality, safety, process, material flow, and employee development.

Technical Expertise: A strong understanding of electrical systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to quickly diagnose and resolve electrical issues to minimize downtime.

Education, Licenses, Certifications High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
QUALIFICATIONS
Able to read electrical blueprints, PLC ladder logic troubleshooting preferred. Knowledge of CNC controls preferred.
Coordinate troubleshooting, diagnostic, and repairs on complex equipment sometimes with vendors through remote or on-site support.
Be proactive at developing critical spares list, identifying items for MRO crib, and understand vendor lead times including spare part obsolescence risk.
Support documentation updates for equipment that require changes, redlines, etc.
Support design/development/utilization of automation, PLC, communication protocol DeviceNet, Ethernet, Robotics, etc.
Coordinate closely with Operations and Manufacturing Engineering to support equipment needs (repair, test, PM, etc.)
