Maintenance Mechanic Lead/Supervisor

3rd shift Maintenance lead/supervisor oversees all overnight maintenance activities and ensures production equipment, building systems, and utilities operate safely and efficiently. This role leads a team of technicians, prioritizes work orders, troubleshoots mechanical and electrical issues, and ensures compliance with food safety and regulatory standards. Responsibilities
Lead, schedule, and direct a team of third-shift maintenance technicians Provide on-shift coaching, training, and performance feedback Promote a strong culture of safety, food safety, and preventive maintenance Troubleshoot and oversee repairs on equipment including silos, mixers, baggers, palletizers, steam kettles, robots, conveyors, and refrigeration systems Respond promptly to production line breakdowns to minimize downtime Review and complete preventive maintenance tasks per PM schedules Conduct audits on PM and maintenance activities Maintain accurate records in the CMMS (work orders, downtime, PMs, parts usage) Ensure compliance with GMP, BRC, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements Support continuous improvement initiatives including root cause analysis and reliability efforts Manage contractors and vendors as needed Partner with the Maintenance Manager and Director to align with departmental and organizational goals Qualifications
3–5 years of maintenance experience in a food, bakery, or manufacturing environment 1–3 years of supervisory or lead technician experience Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills Ability to read schematics, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals Knowledge of PLCs, industrial controls, and basic instrumentation Understanding of food safety requirements (GMP, HACCP, sanitation)
