Job Title:

Therapist, Behavioral Care Center

Job Summary:

Provide individual and group counseling with an emphasis on prevention, recovery, and resiliency. Work with individuals and groups to promote optimum mental health.

Responsibilities

Utilize evidence-based treatment modalities to assist consumers in achieving treatment goals.

Work with a multi-disciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge.

Conduct ongoing assessments of residents’ behavioral health needs and update treatment goals and interventions as needed.

Evaluate the effectiveness of counseling programs and consumers’ progress in resolving identified problems and moving toward defined objectives.

Refer patients, consumers or family members to community resources or to specialists as necessary.

Meet with families, team providers, and care managers in order to exchange necessary information during the treatment process.

Assist in the development of discharge plans and provide follow‑up services as needed.

Provide training as needed on topics related to mental health, engagement, and de‑escalation techniques.

Learn about new developments in the field by reading professional literature, attending courses and seminars, and maintaining contact with other social service agencies.

Requirements

Master’s degree (M.A., M.S.) in a mental health field.

Licensed or license‑eligible.

Valid Tennessee Driver’s License.

Acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).

Acceptable Criminal Background Investigation.
