Job Summary : The Donor Relations Specialist is responsible for securing build sponsorships and soliciting financial gifts to support Habitat for Humanity of Greater Nashville (HFHGN) in Wilson and Robertson Counties. The role serves as the primary point of contact for sponsors and donors, ensuring their needs and expectations are met, and engages with Community Advisory Council members to recruit sponsors.

Responsibilities

Identify, cultivate, and secure build sponsorships from organizations, congregations, foundations, and individuals.

Monitor and report on sponsorship and fundraising progress, documenting all partner journeys in Salesforce and analyzing data to improve strategies.

Manage relationships with key house sponsors, ensuring a positive experience and repeat sponsorships.

Coordinate the submission of “Build Sponsor Form” and related tasks with marketing for home dedication ceremonies.

Participate at build sites to welcome sponsors and volunteers.

Develop and implement strategies to identify, cultivate, and solicit donors at all levels.

Maintain a diverse donor portfolio, ensuring personalized engagement and stewardship.

Prepare and present proposals to potential donors, aligning interests with organizational needs.

Track and report progress toward fundraising goals and maintain accurate records in Salesforce.

Secure sponsorships for key fundraising events and donations.

Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, corporations, and congregations.

Identify and recruit community leaders for Community Advisory Council members.

Ensure active and engaged councils and drive community outreach to support house sponsorships, fundraising events, and ReStore initiatives.

Increase community awareness of the ReStore by educating the public on donation, volunteer, and shopping opportunities.

Represent HFHGN at community and professional organization events.

Support Homeowner Services in recruiting future Habitat homeowners.

Perform administrative duties in Salesforce and attend staff training events.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of work experience; non‑profit, volunteer management, or development experience strongly preferred.

Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience working with volunteers.

Knowledge of the local funding community.

Computer skills including Microsoft Teams and Salesforce.

Excellent verbal communication skills.

Ability to work respectfully with diverse populations and conduct activities in accordance with Habitat principles and values.

Time Requirements This position requires 40+ hours per week, including some evening and weekend work. On‑site presence on pre‑determined build days, including Saturdays and Sundays, is required.
