Schedule Full‑time, 40 hours per week

Responsibilities

Conduct individual, group, and family therapy sessions to address patients’ specific needs and goals.

Assess patients’ needs through comprehensive evaluations to identify mental health concerns, strengths, and challenges.

Develop individualized treatment plans based on patients’ needs and goals; provide guidance in implementing clinical interventions.

Provide counseling and support by incorporating evidence‑based therapeutic techniques to help patients manage symptoms and improve overall well‑being.

Educate patients about mental health and/or substance use conditions, self‑care strategies, and treatment options.

Document patient progress in detailed records of therapy sessions, including goals and interventions; complete documentation within required time.

Collaborate with other professionals (psychiatrists, social workers, case managers) to coordinate care and ensure optimal outcomes.

Adhere to ethical guidelines and maintain confidentiality in all interactions with patients.

Participate in ongoing professional development to stay updated on latest research and best practices.

Report and document suspected cases of physical, sexual abuse, and/or neglect according to state law and system policy.

Support changes in staffing/scheduling assignments when program and patient care needs require.

Participate in clinical initiatives, projects, and activities to support system‑wide continuous improvement.

Demonstrate understanding of Joint Commission, state, and other regulatory agency compliance regulations.

Provide for patient safety and the safety of the facility.

Perform other duties as assigned, including maintaining current knowledge of department processes, protocols, procedures, and pursuing self‑directed learning and education opportunities.

Education & Experience

Master’s Degree in Social Work, Professional Counseling, or Family Therapy from an accredited school; preferred experience in health care and psychiatric settings.

In‑training as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC‑IT), Marriage and Family Therapist Training License (MFT‑TL), Advance Practice Social Work (APSW), or equivalent state license.

Substance use credentialing required (SAC‑IT, SAC, CSAC) for programs requiring substance use specialty authorization.

Working knowledge of therapeutic intervention and techniques for all age groups, and understanding of human growth and behavior dynamics.

Required On‑the‑Job Training

Compliance with Residential Care Center (RCC) and Community‑Based Residential Facility (CBRF) for residential inpatient programs.

American Heart Association CPR certification within 30 days of hire, with bi‑annual re‑certification.

Training in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) within 60 days of hire/transfer, with annual re‑certification.

Attendance at all mandatory in‑services relevant to the position.

Responsibility for all educational requirements related to the license of the program/unit license regulatory requirements.

Current and active driver's license in good standing (preferred for all levels of care).
