Furnace Operator – 12 Hour Shifts (Wednesday – Saturday, 2nd shift) Position Location: 305 Travis Ln, Waukesha, WI 53189

Position Hours: 12‑hour shifts: Wednesday 12 AM‑6:00 AM; Thursday, Friday, Saturday 6:00 PM‑6:00 AM

Position Wage: $23.40 – $32.76 per hour

Job Description (Summary): Responsibilities will include working in several different production areas and being adaptable to fulfill the needs of fellow team members. Inspecting equipment throughout the shop and promptly reporting any concerns to the shift foreman will be crucial.

Job Duties & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

Read production schedules and work orders to determine processing sequences and work instructions for customer parts.

Record times that parts begin and end operations to document that objects have completed operations(s) and process(es)

Adjust controls according to work instructions, using thermal instruments and charts, dials and gauges of furnaces

Test parts for hardness, using hardness testing equipment, or by examining samples

Verify products meet customer requirements, identify nonconformities, communicate & document issues

Ensure that all tooling is properly stored and organized according to procedures

Perform all necessary quality checks for hardness & critical dimensions

Input all necessary part data into Bluestreak system

Note any quality concerns that arise during operation via Bluestreak nonconformance system

Notify maintenance staff for any equipment quality issues

Package parts according to customer requirements

Instruct new workers in machine operation

Maintain furnace equipment as needed

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must be legally entitled to work in the United States (i.e., a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, a non-resident, authorized to work in the U.S. without ThermTech sponsorship). ThermTech does not sponsor visas, either at time of hire or at any later time.

This position must satisfy ITAR (DSP-5) compliance requirements; therefore, candidates must be a lawful permanent resident or a protected individual. Employment of foreign persons will be contingent on receiving the DSP-5 license from the US State Department.

All hires are contingent upon a 9-panel hair follicle drug test & background check.

May be required to obtain and maintain forklift operation certification.

May be required to work overtime or any shift, including weekends.

Physical & Mental Demands

Must be able to work in a standing position for extended periods in a non-climate controlled industrial environment

Ability to bend, pull, stoop, and reach to perform functions

Capable of lifting and carrying at least 25‑pound objects throughout shift

Must be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, humidity, etc.

Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions

Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language

Must demonstrate the ability to perform fundamental mathematical skills and concepts (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, percentages, basics of algebra and geometry)

Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.

Ability to hear in person and via phone

Education High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Experience Prior factory work or heat‑treating experience preferred
