The Process Engineer provides technical support to refinery operations at a Wyoming refinery. The role includes design modifications, troubleshooting, maintenance of facilities, and specification of process instrumentation. Key Activities
Monitor daily operations of assigned process units. Assist in troubleshooting and optimization of process units. Assess and monitor long‑term unit trends. Support startup, shutdown, and turnaround activities. Perform economic analyses and identify cost‑saving or value‑adding improvements. Enforce safety and environmental regulations. Communicate daily with operators regarding unit performance and capital project feedback. Size and select PSVs, control valves, orifice plates, and other flow devices. Conduct PHAs and support PSM roles in MOC, PSSR, and PSI. Assist with P&ID development and updates. Provide technical support to the maintenance department. Support project engineering activities (cost estimates, material requisitions). Available for off‑hour work during emergencies and turnarounds. Qualifications
Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States without visa sponsorship. Education Requirement
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent. Experience Requirements
Preferable experience in a petroleum refinery or chemical engineering environment. 3‑8 years of refining engineering experience or 4 years of refinery experience. Ability to climb towers and vessels, work at heights, and in confined spaces. Safety and environmental sensitivity. Strong oral and written communication skills. Effective interpersonal skills; ability to work with multifunctional teams. Competencies
