Job Description Opti Staffing is hiring! Position: Diesel Technician / Fleet Mechanic
Location:
Vancouver, WA
Pay:
$24.00 – $35.00 + per hour (based on experience)
Schedule:
Full-time • No less than 40 hours per week

What You’ll Do Preventative Maintenance
Perform routine services including oil and filter changes, tire service, and brake adjustments
Inspect and maintain lighting, electrical, and air systems
Diagnostics & Repairs
Diagnose and repair brakes, wheel seals, and suspension systems (airbags, leaf springs, steering, kingpins)
Perform driveline repairs such as U‑joint and pinion seal replacements
Diagnose engine performance issues including leaks, injector faults, and power loss
Perform injector servicing and valve adjustments
Specialized Systems & Training
Learn and maintain EGR and DPF systems (training provided)
Assist with lift gate maintenance and troubleshooting
Perform occasional transmission or flex plate services (primarily automatic transmissions)
Workplace Standards
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with company safety protocols
Equipment & Engines Serviced
Cummins 6.7L and Detroit DD5 engines
Freightliner, International, and Hino trucks

What You Need to Have
Proven experience as a diesel or fleet mechanic (all experience levels considered)
Knowledge of basic maintenance and diagnostic procedures
Strong attention to detail and willingness to learnPersonal basic hand tools (sockets, wrenches, ratchets, pliers, screwdrivers, headlamp, etc.)
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Dependability and motivation
Pride in quality workmanship
Ability to work as part of a team
Preferred
Familiarity with EGR and DPF systems
Experience with medium‑weight truck platforms (Freightliner, International, Hino)
Lift gate troubleshooting or repair experience
