The Aviation Floor Inspector is responsible for performing detailed inspections of aircraft, components, tooling, and maintenance work areas to ensure compliance with FAA regulations, company procedures, and quality standards.

This role serves as the “eyes on the floor,” ensuring safe, accurate, and compliant maintenance operations.

Location: Tampa, Florida (KTPA)

Schedule: M-F 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

Conduct incoming, in-process, and final inspections on aircraft, engines, avionics, and components.

Verify work has been performed in accordance with OEM manuals, FAA regulations, and company policies.

Inspect for proper installation, security, alignment, torque, and workmanship.

Ensure all parts and materials meet traceability and airworthiness requirements.

Monitor daily maintenance activities to ensure procedural compliance (MEL, RII, torque, FOD control, etc.).

Identify discrepancies or unsafe conditions and immediately communicate findings to Leads/Supervisors.

Perform tool control audits, FOD walk‑downs, and calibration verification.

Confirm required documents match the work being performed.

Regulatory & Documentation Compliance

Ensure all work packages, inspection records, logbook entries, and 8130s are properly completed.

Validate reference data (AMM/IPC/SRM/WDM/TSM/AWLs/CDCCLs) are correct and current.

Review maintenance releases for accuracy before aircraft return-to-service.

Quality Assurance Support

Support internal audits, surveillance, and root cause investigations.

Assist with corrective action development and validation.

Monitor adherence to SMS protocols.

Identify hazards, unsafe behaviors, or non‑conforming conditions on the floor.

Ensure proper use of PPE, ESD protection, lock‑out/tag‑out, and fall protection.

Report safety events and help support risk assessment activities.

Required Qualifications

Airframe & Powerplant certificate.

3–5 years aircraft maintenance experience.

Strong understanding of FAA Part 43, 65, 145, and OEM documentation.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and manuals.

High attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with CAMP and Corridor.

Previous DOM or Quality Control experience.
