Active RN License Degree from an accredited nursing program BLS & ACLS certifications At least 18 months of recent experience in an Acute Care PCU or Step‑down setting Other requirements as determined by the client facility Duties & Responsibilities
Progressive Care nurses provide close monitoring and assessment for patients who are not unstable enough for ICU but require frequent evaluation. The PCU nurse monitors cardiac and other vital signs, detects changes, and intervenes in life‑threatening or emergency situations. Patients often receive complex medications that may be titrated based on vital signs. Monitor and assess patients who are not unstable enough to need ICU care. Use computer equipment to monitor cardiac and other vital information and detect changes, enabling intervention for life‑threatening or emergency situations. Benefits
