Acute Care Physical Therapist
Location: Lawrenceville, Georgia

Join Innovative Therapy Concepts (ITC), a PT‑owned and operated therapy management organization. ITC partnered with Northside Gwinnett in 2013 to provide therapy services throughout the system. We are seeking a Physical Therapist with a passion for acute care, especially in neuro or orthopedic trauma. Experience in acute critical care is beneficial but not required. The role involves mobilizing patients in ICU, progressive care units, and other critical medical states, clinically problem‑solving complex orthopedic injuries, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.

Graduate from a CAPTE‑accredited physical therapy program

New graduates are welcome to apply; clinical education and mentorship provide a successful transition from PT school to clinical setting
Responsibilities
Appropriately assess and examine patients with varying diagnoses according to PT scope of practice.
Treat patients within the PT scope of practice.
Teach patients how to use and care for orthotic, prosthetic devices, and other assistive devices.
Provide education to patients, caregivers, and associates regarding PT interventions, safety, community resources and outcomes.
Recommend appropriate adaptive equipment for ambulation and functional mobility.
Coordinate and lead groups.
Attend and participate in care‑planning meetings as assigned.
Communicate and collaborate with all customers and interdisciplinary team members.
Maintain gym area and equipment.
Contribute to profits and revenues, including marketing and productivity.
Participate in budget development and cost‑saving efforts.
Serve on performance‑improvement teams.
Participate in community services.
Supervise treatment and documentation of the physical therapy assistant.
Delegate treatment tasks to PTAs and aides in accordance with PT state practice guidelines.
Provide care and documentation in accordance with regulatory, legal, and reimbursement guidelines.
Accept responsibility for own growth and development through in‑services, required programs, and continuing education.
Comply with all established hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
Maintain CPR certification.
Assume responsibility for completing all assignments and tasks in a timely and cost‑efficient manner.
Perform other duties as required.

Physically able to operate a variety of machines, equipment and tools, may include computer, printer, facsimile machine, copier, calculator, etc. Must be able to use body members to work, move or carry objects or materials. Must be able to exert up to twenty (20) pounds of force occasionally and/or up to ten (10) pounds frequently. Physical demand requirements are at levels of those for sedentary work with continuous up and down movement from chair.
Mental Requirements: Requires the ability to learn and understand relatively complex principles and techniques; to make independent judgement in absence of supervision; to acquire knowledge of topics related to primary occupation. Requires the ability to record and deliver information to explain procedures, to follow verbal and written instructions.
