Overview
We are seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Medical Sonographer and Cardiovascular Technologist to help on an as needed basis. As a Sonographer you will be responsible for performing echocardiograms, abdominal, kidney and thyroid ultrasounds and assisting with diagnostic evaluations of patients' health. This is a vital role in our occupational healthcare facility, as sonographers play a crucial role in diagnosing and monitoring patients overall health.
Responsibilities
Perform echocardiograms and ultrasounds using ultrasound equipment to capture images of the heart, abdominal, kidney, carotid, arterial, pelvic, thyroid.
Assist physicians with diagnostic evaluations by providing accurate and detailed ultrasound reports.
Ensure patient comfort and safety during procedures.
Maintain and calibrate ultrasound equipment to ensure accurate readings.
Maintain patient records and documentation in accordance with medical guidelines.
Adhere to strict infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
Skills
Strong knowledge of human physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology.
Proficiency in sonography techniques.
Ability to accurately interpret ultrasound images and identify abnormalities or irregularities.
Proficient in obtaining vital signs and assessing patient condition during procedures.
Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare team members and explain procedures to patients.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to maintain accurate patient records.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited Echocardiogram Technician program required.
Certification as an Echocardiogram Technician (RDCS or RCS) required.
Previous experience working as an Echocardiogram Technician in a healthcare setting preferred.
