Overview Performs duties under the direction or supervision of a licensed medical practitioner or a registered nurse. Responsible for conducting a focused assessment of the patient to include vital signs and gathering data, implementing established plans of care, and evaluating effectiveness of treatments in the medical practice setting. May float to other practices within the region providing operational support as needed.
What You Will Do
Complete all required clinical documentation consistently per Riverside Medical Group standards, maintaining quality assurance documentation such as point‑of‑care testing, medication logs, and annual wellness visits.
Maintain excellent clinical competency by adhering to the standard clinical expectations, including updating, verifying, and maintaining patient records, interviewing the patient, preparing the patient for examination, obtaining vital signs, sanitizing exam rooms, administering medications and vaccines under physician supervision, assisting with prescription refills, maintaining medical inventory, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations (scope, HIPAA, OSHA), and completing required competencies.
Provide patient education on medications, registration, medical history, and follow‑ups for lab calls, prescriptions, referrals, and appointments.
Answer telephone calls from patients, pharmacies, physicians, vendors, etc. by close of business and communicate lab/pathology results, scheduling additional tests as ordered.
Ensure proper reimbursement from insurance companies by performing pre‑authorizations for prescriptions, procedures, and tests.
Build trusting relationships with the multi‑disciplinary team to support patient care and actively participate in team meetings as assigned.

Education
Program Graduate, Licensed Practical Nurse (Required)
Experience
1 year Nursing experience (Preferred)
Licenses and Certifications
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) Upon Hire (Required)
CPR/BLS Certification – American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire (Required)
