Primary Responsibilities
Assist in determining the suitability of donors.
Establish rapport with donors to ensure overall customer happiness while maintaining donor confidentiality.
Respond to and assist with handling donor reactions.
Monitor donor and equipment to ensure donor health and product quality.
Set up, disconnect, and operate the automated plasmapheresis machines.
Disconnect and dispose of all contaminated disposable equipment.
Occupational Demands Work is performed in a plasma center. Exposure to biological fluids with potential exposure to infectious organisms, electrical office and laboratory equipment, and extreme cold below 32°F while working in a plasma freezer. Protective equipment (eyewear, garments, gloves, cold gear) is required. The position requires standing 6–8 hours per day, bending and twisting for 1–2 hours, frequent hand movements, precise finger coordination, occasional squatting or crouching, walking 6–8 hours, and light lifting up to 15 lbs (max 50 lbs). Hearing acuity and color vision requirements apply.
