Echocardiographer Technician (Echo Tech) – Cardiology – Full Time Eligible for $15,000 Bonus Perform diagnostic ultrasound evaluations of the heart using M‑Mode, 2‑D imaging, and Doppler techniques. Operate ultrasound equipment under the guidance of the Lead Echo Tech and in alignment with hospital and departmental standards.

Responsibilities

Execute cardiac scans, including M‑Mode, 2‑D, color, Doppler, exercise testing, and transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE).

Prepare patients for cardiac stress tests, TEE, contrast studies, and bubble studies.

Notify interpreting physicians of abnormal or hemodynamically significant findings.

Enter patient demographics, verify orders, and perform echo studies based on patient histories.

Manage CD processing and maintain CPACS system competency.

Assist in patient scheduling and conduct patient interviews.

Maintain accurate departmental paperwork and documentation.

Develop knowledge of other cardiology procedures such as EKGs, Holter hookups, and scanning.

Provide preliminary findings interpretation when appropriate.

Ensure echo equipment remains in good working condition and report malfunctions.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Wear lead protection as required.

Assume call responsibilities as needed.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education

High school graduate or equivalent.

Associate degree or bachelor's degree preferred.

Completion of a cardiac sonography or echocardiography certificate program.

Experience & Qualifications

Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS).

Two current years of experience as an Echo Tech.

BLS Health Care Provider certification from the American Heart Association.

Physical Requirements Requires stooping, sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods. Frequently assists in lifting patients and heavy equipment. Must be able to push/pull up to 40 lbs and lift/​carry up to 50 lbs while working in a stressful, independent environment with strong attention to detail.

Threshold Requirements

Annual completion of Joint Commission mandatory education, in‑service training, and health requirements.

TB/PPD surveillance program participation.

Maintenance of required professional licensing and/or certifications.
