Registered Nurse Seasonal - TMC Rincon Med Surg 13‑week seasonal contract at TMC Rincon. Housing stipend available if you reside more than 100 miles outside of Tucson, AZ!

Summary Coordinates patient care planning with other disciplines using nursing process principles and critical thinking skills to maintain patient safety and well‑being.

Essential Functions

Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with specialists as needed, and adjusts nursing care processes to ensure safe care.

Writes or obtains initial nursing histories, assesses patient conditions, develops individual care plans, and maintains patient documentation.

Receives and reviews preceding shift reports; makes rounds of all units and notes patient conditions.

Notifies physicians regarding any unusual events or problems requiring consultation.

Works with the interdisciplinary team, implements patient instructional needs, and offers information to patients and families.

Evaluates outcomes of patient care, consults with specialists as needed, and adjusts nursing processes to ensure optimal care.

Identifies and resolves workplace health and safety issues.

Provides direct patient care using appropriate aseptic techniques.

May manage IV lines, ensure sterile techniques, and oversee patient movement and positioning.

May perform administration of pharmacological vasodilators for nuclear myocardial perfusion imaging, complying with Imaging Services Practice Standards.

Complies with policies, procedures, regulations, and standards, and takes corrective action when violations occur.

Orients, instructs, and educates assigned personnel.

Supports team in exhibiting TMC values of integrity, community, compassion, and dedication.

Adheres to TMC organizational and department‑specific safety, confidentiality, values, policies, and standards.

Performs related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Graduation from a qualified, nationally‑accredited nursing program.

Experience:

One year of nursing experience in an acute care setting preferred. (Positions assigned to EP require two years of EP experience or demonstrated competency.)

Licensure/Certification:

Current RN licensure in Arizona and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Some departments may require advanced life support (ACLS, PALS). Additional certifications may be required for specialties (e.g., EP certification).

Additional requirements:

Valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card within six months of hire for Hospice & Pediatrics; Crisis Prevention Instruction (CPI) for Mental Health.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of direct patient and critical care procedures and techniques.

Knowledge of exam indicators, contraindications, and patient preparation.

Effective communication with staff and physicians.

Reading 12‑lead EKG.

Skill in assigned disciplines such as EP.

Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedure manuals.

Ability to complete routine reports and correspondence.

Ability to listen, interpret instructions, and take appropriate action.

Effective speaking and communication skills.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Ability to interpret instructions and handle abstract & concrete variables.
