Phlebotomist Sr. – Dallas Presby
Maryland Oncology Hematology invites you to join our team as a Senior Phlebotomist at the Dallas Presbyterian location. This full‑time position runs Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., with no weekend or holiday shifts.
Depending on your experience the role may be at Level 1, Level 2, or Senior Level, with Level 1 requiring no prior experience, Level 2 requiring three years, and Senior Level requiring five or more years.
Responsibilities
Perform phlebotomy and collect appropriate specimens as ordered.
Maintain accurate documentation as described by the quality assurance program.
Manage inventory of supplies and ensure all items are viable before use.
Send specimens to reference laboratories for any testing not performed in‑house.
Process incoming lab orders and reports.
Operate designated laboratory equipment and maintain a clean work area.
Process waived lab testing under CLIA guidelines and record lot numbers.
Adhere to OSHA compliance laws and universal precaution procedures.
Properly dispose of hazardous materials and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Entry level (Level 1) has no experience requirement; Level 2 requires three years; Senior Level requires five or more years.
Phlebotomy licensure from an accredited school is recommended.
Current state licensure if applicable.
Physical Demands Requires full range of body motion, manual dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination. May sit or stand for extended periods, handle items up to 40 lb, and maintain legible handwriting.
Work Environment Regular exposure to direct contact with patients, blood/body fluids, chemotherapeutic agents, and transmittable infections. Handles glassware, needles, and corrosive chemicals.
