Psychologist I – Pediatric Pine (Wexford) Are you a dedicated psychologist ready to make a real impact on young lives while benefiting from the collaborative, innovative, and supportive culture of a leading academic health system? UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital, part of the world‑renowned UPMC system, is expanding its child and adolescent psychology services in Wexford, PA, and seeking a Licensed Psychologist to deliver short‑term, evidence‑based and personalized care to children, adolescents, and families in a dynamic outpatient setting.

This role offers the chance to help grow and elevate clinical psychology within UPMC. Candidates should have strong knowledge of general mental health conditions; ideal candidates bring additional expertise in specialized areas. You’ll have opportunities to expand services, provide both in‑person and telemedicine care, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across the system. The position includes full administrative support, rich training and supervision opportunities, and potential research or quality improvement collaborations for those with relevant interests and experience.

This position works in our Pine Center Office in Wexford and is primarily daytime hours, though providers may be required to offer one evening clinic per week.

Productivity incentives are available.

Sign‑On Bonus Details:

$5,000 for a 1‑year contract

$7,000 for a 2‑year contract

Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and provide accurate diagnostic impressions, demonstrating expertise in differential diagnosis of psychiatric disorders.

Apply evidence‑based practices in treatment, with ideal candidates bringing additional competency‑based training in an empirically supported treatment or evidence‑based psychotherapy.

Deliver evidence‑based behavioral health services across acute, maintenance, and crisis care models.

Deliver timely crisis assessment, planning, and intervention.

Stay informed on emerging research and best practices related to the assigned patient population.

Actively engage in ongoing clinical supervision with on‑site supervisor.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, UPMC service lines, and external agencies to ensure treatment planning and continuity of care.

Supports UPMC’s training mission and may provide clinical supervision to trainees such as practicum students, interns, post‑doctoral fellows, and residents.

Maintain timely, accurate, and complete clinical documentation and data collection.

Maintain a patient schedule that meets departmental productivity standards.

Qualifications:

Doctoral degree in Psychology (PsyD or PhD) from an accredited institution.

Active PA Psychology License required.

APA‑accredited graduate training and APA‑accredited pre‑doctoral internship preferred.

1 year of experience in Psychology or related field preferred. Excellent clinical interviewing and assessment/therapy skills to work with patients and families. Strong interpersonal skills.

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCMC)

Psychologist

Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal

Act 33 with renewal
