We are currently looking for a
Registered Nurse
for our
5th Floor Medical Surgical Unit
at our New McKinley Hospital Campus. The 32‑bed unit provides post‑operative care to Head & Neck, Neuro, and GU patients, as well as care to complex medical oncology patients and chemotherapy infusion.
Position Highlights
The Registered Nurse delivers individualized quality nursing care to cancer patients and families in accordance with established hospital guidelines, nursing professional practice models, nursing care standards, policies, ANA code of ethics, and external regulatory agencies.
Registered Nurses embody the vision, mission, and philosophy of Moffitt Nursing and are committed to personalized patient and family–centered care, incorporating Duffy's quality caring model and caring factors such as collaboration, dignity, human respect, reassurance, and more.
Registered Nurses use the nursing process to plan and manage quality patient care, addressing biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self‑care, educational, and discharge planning needs with timely, evidence‑based documentation.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
1 year of inpatient hospital experience
Medical Surgery experience as a registered nurse
Experience with Head and Neck Cancers, GU, and post‑op surgery patients
Responsibilities
Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, and evaluate the care of cancer patients and families, integrating patient and family‑centered care and quality caring factors.
Identifies, documents, and provides patient education based on the learning needs of patients.
Participates in evidence‑based improvement activities related to the area of practice.
Participates in professional development based on nursing professional standards, regulatory requirements, and job expectations.
Credentials and Qualifications
BSN from an ACEN or CCNE accredited institution with at least one year of relevant experience or ASN from an ACEN or CCNE accredited institution with 1 year of relevant experience.
BCLS Certification
FL License
An applicant for this position, who will be or is seeking Florida licensure by endorsement, must not have any National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB) reports unless the applicant has successfully appealed to have their name removed from the NPDB.
