Qualifications
Education / Training:
Bachelor’s degree in nursing required; graduation from WOCNEP required for acute care setting; professional development and continuing education.
Licensure / Certification:
Current RN license in Florida; current BLS/Healthcare Provider Certification; WOC nurses must hold current CWOCN or CWON credentials from WOCNCB; OH RN graduates from WOCNEP have one year to sit for the exam.
Experience:
Two (2) years relevant nursing experience; must meet unit specific performance competencies.
Responsibilities Essential Functions
Provide direct patient care to individuals with abdominal stomas, wounds, fistulas, drains, pressure ulcers, skin disorders, and incontinence.
Use an evidence‑based process to evaluate current practice and make recommendations for best practice.
Create an environment that facilitates collaboration to improve quality of care.
Advocate on behalf of the specific patient population.
Maintain a safe and caring environment for patients and families.
Maintain reasonable attendance and compliance with all Orlando Health policies, ADA, FMLA, and other standards.
Other Related Functions
Participate in pre‑ship training for the WOCNEP; ensure maintenance and provision of equipment and supplies.
Develop and provide ongoing implementation of staff in‑services.
