It begins with 102 beds and is expandable to 300 beds at full build‑out, includes 9 advanced operating rooms with hybrid OR and real‑time imaging capabilities, and offers comprehensive services in cardiology, neurology, oncology, surgery, and more.
Job Summary Serves as the clinical resource and consultant for the acute and rehabilitative care of patients with select disorders of the gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and integumentary systems.
Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care to individuals with abdominal stomas, wounds, fistulas, drains, pressure ulcers, skin disorders, and incontinence.
Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles over the lifespan; assess patient data and interpret information to identify age‑specific needs.
Use evidence‑based processes to evaluate current practice and make recommendations for best practice.
Create an environment that facilitates collaboration to improve quality of care.
Advocate on behalf of the specific patient population.
Maintain a safe and caring environment for patients and families.
Maintain reasonable, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
Maintain compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
Participate in preceptor‑ship training for the Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse Education Program (WOCNEP); ensure maintenance and provision of equipment and supplies, including evaluating new products.
Develop and provide ongoing implementation of staff in‑services.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in nursing required.
Graduation from WOCNEP required for acute care setting.
Maintain current RN license in the State of Florida.
Maintain current BLS/Healthcare Provider Certification.
WOC nurses must maintain current certification CWOCN or CWON from the Wound Ostomy Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCB).
Current OH RN’s who graduate from WOCNEP have one year after completion to sit for the exam.
Assume responsibility for professional development and continuing education.
Two (2) years of relevant nursing experience; must meet unit‑specific performance competencies.
