Public Health Nurse – Monroe County Health Department

Responsibilities
Lead community health programs and promote health and safety.
Respond to health emergencies and use innovative strategies to address health disparities.
Serve residents of Monroe County, assessing and educating clients, providing community‑based nursing services to individuals, families, and populations.
Prevent disease, promote healthy behaviors, and protect communities from public health threats.
Assess and manage communicable disease cases and outbreaks; investigate and educate per state mandates and statutes; maintain WEDSS documentation.
Develop and facilitate group presentations and educational displays on communicable disease, injury prevention, and other health topics.
Organize and manage various public health programs as assigned.
Participate in community coalitions and professional meetings representing the Monroe County Health Department.
Qualifications
Two years of nursing experience with one year of professional work in public health or community health.
Candidates within six months of obtaining a BSN may be considered.
