Position Overview
We are looking for a Vitreoretinal Surgeon Ophthalmologist to join the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. The role is a full‑time clinical position with academic rank and track commensurate with experience and record.
Department / Division Overview The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences has over 100 years of history and state‑of‑the‑art facilities, including on‑site outpatient surgical centers.
Duties and Responsibilities The successful candidate will:
Provide patient care as a Vitreoretinal Surgeon.
Conduct research and scholarship in Surgical Retina.
Teach at the undergraduate, graduate, medical student, resident, and fellow levels.
Participate in service commitments throughout OSUWMC and other clinical sites.
Serve on departmental, collegial, and professional organization committees.
Requirements
U.S. citizenship is required due to VA contractual agreements.
Board‑eligible or board‑certified in Ophthalmology with licensure eligibility in Ohio.
MD or DO degree with residency in Ophthalmology and a subspecialty fellowship in Surgical Retina.
Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in medical and surgical management of Surgical Retina.
Evidence of basic or clinical applied research and publications.
Commitment to teaching residents, fellows, and medical students.
Academic rank and salary commensurate with experience and credentials.
