Division of Cardiovascular Medicine – University of Virginia School of Medicine The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine (Interventional Cardiology) at the University of Virginia School of Medicine (UVA) is currently seeking Clinical Research Coordinators (CRC) to join a dynamic and growing team of clinical research professionals. These positions are available at various skill and experience levels, including both licensed and non‑licensed roles. The CRC will work closely with physicians, research staff, study subjects, and departmental staff, coordinating all aspects of clinical research from study start‑up through archiving of study records.

Job Responsibilities

Recruitment, screening, and enrollment of study participants who meet research criteria.

Collect basic information through scripted and non‑scripted interviews.

Plan and execute research tasks, including scheduling and coordinating site activities.

Maintain accurate and timely study documentation, logs, and participant tracking.

Obtain informed consent from study participants and maintain telephone and in‑person contact.

Process, prepare, and ship laboratory specimens as required.

Ensure compliance with protocol guidelines and regulatory agency requirements.

Maintain quality management of the trial portfolio.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements – Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC), Non‑Licensed

CRC 1 : Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; no prior clinical research experience required.

CRC 2 : Bachelor's degree and at least one year of clinical research experience.

CRC 3 : Bachelor's degree and minimum three years of clinical research experience; Master’s degree may substitute for one year of experience. Preference for CCRC or CCRP certification or requirement to achieve it within one year.

CRC 4 : Bachelor's degree and at least seven years of clinical research experience with progressive responsibility; Master’s or advanced degree may substitute for one year of experience. CCRC or CCRP certification required within one year.

Minimum Requirements – Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC), Licensed

Licensed to Practice in a Clinical Profession

(e.g., Registered Nurse, Athletic Training, Pharmacology, Medical Technology, Physical Therapy, or Registered Respiratory Therapy).

CRC 1 : Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; no prior research experience required.

CRC 2 : Bachelor’s degree and at least one year of clinical research experience.

CRC 3 : Bachelor’s degree and minimum three years of clinical research experience; Master’s or advanced degree may substitute for one year of experience. CCRC or CCRP certification required within one year.

CRC 4 : Bachelor’s degree and at least seven years of clinical research experience with progressive responsibility; Master’s or advanced degree may substitute for one year of experience. CCRC or CCRP certification required within one year.

Preferred Qualifications

Regulatory experience.

Extensive experience managing multiple clinical research studies simultaneously.

Proficiency in computer and automated systems for data purposes.

Effective use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Microsoft OneDrive.

Physical Demands This is primarily a sedentary position involving extensive use of desktop computers. Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings and programs.

Location and Employment Status The position is based in Charlottesville, VA and must be performed fully on site. This is a restricted position that depends on funding availability. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience. This is a benefited position; additional benefits information is available through UVA.
