Adjunct Instructor of Health/ Physical Education
Position: Adjunct Instructor of Health/ Physical Education at Danville Community College. The role is part‑time with a pay range of $700–$1 100 per credit hour, commensurate with qualifications and experience. The position will begin in the Spring 2026 semester, with a work schedule of Monday to Friday between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm. No telework options. Sensitive position.

Teach various day, night, and online courses, as needed. Maintain accurate records of attendance/participation and grades. Complete Canvas training. Recruit and advise students. Assist students with job placement. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Special Assignments: May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
Master’s degree in Health, Physical Education or related field, or Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in Health/ Physical Education. Excellent Microsoft Office skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and time‑management skills. Ability to utilize campus resources including software and college learning management systems. Ability to exercise discretion and use sound judgement in decision making. Ability to adjust to change, meet deadlines, and perform multiple tasks as needed. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Ability to communicate with a variety of faculty, staff, enrolled students, prospective students, and community members. Skilled in written and oral communication. Skilled in monitoring, mentoring, and evaluating. Skilled in developing, implementing, and communicating college policies and procedures. Skilled in problem‑solving and working effectively with administration, faculty, staff and students. The ability and willingness to market the program to potential students of all ages and backgrounds. Commitment to teaching excellence with an enthusiasm for teaching. Ability to use technology to enhance instruction.
