The position of Nurse Practitioner II in the Department of Medicine, Hematology/Oncology Division requires a highly competent, independent yet team-oriented individual who will be a critical part of the team caring for cancer patients at the UCI Medical Center in Orange and for early phase clinical trial patients in the CCR Center for Innovative Health. Responsibilities

Under the supervision of Medical Director(s) and the Nurse Practitioner Supervisor, and guided by the applicable policies and procedures, the Nurse Practitioner will participate in the comprehensive care of patients in the ambulatory and infusion center settings at the Irvine Infusion Center and provide multi-disciplinary care coordination, treatment, education, monitoring, and communication with patients and referring physicians. A Nurse Practitioner is an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) who possesses the advanced education, knowledge, clinical skills and experience necessary to provide advanced nursing care in their area of specialization. The NP may perform functions appropriate to their scope of practice, including management of chronic stable medical conditions, routine care, acute or critical care, and medical and surgical procedures as per their approved standardized procedure. Qualifications

Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program. Current, active, unrestricted California Registered Nurse license. Current, active, unrestricted California Nurse Practitioner license. Current, active, unrestricted Furnishing license and DEA registration. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the program and UCI Health System. Ability to exercise diplomacy and flexibility in interacting with physicians, nurses, other paramedical personnel, administrators, emergency and law enforcement officers. Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job. Skill to clearly communicate medical information to a broad variety of people, both in person and over the telephone. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Writing skills to prepare clear medical reports, laboratory data and progress notes. Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload. Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties. Ability to be trained in the use of specialized medical equipment and procedures. Demonstrates an understanding of and adheres to privacy, confidentiality, and security policies and procedures related to Protected Health Information (PHI) or other sensitive and personal information. Current, active, unrestricted Furnishing license and DEA registration. Acceptable Certifications

NP National Board Certification: Family/Individual FNP-BC or FNP-C. NP National Board Certification: Adult/Gerontology AGPCNP-BC or AGNP-C. NP National Board Certification: Adult Gerontology Acute Care AGACNP-BC or ACNPC-AG. NP National Board Certification: Adult NP-BC or Adult NP-C. Current BLS certification and ACLS certification. Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Certification (ACONP) and/or ONS Chemotherapy Certification (obtained within 3 months of hire). Hematology/Oncology Experience (at least 2 or more years). Infusion Center Experience (at least 2 or more years). Preferred: Experience with clinical trial patient participation. Special Conditions: Ability to obtain UCIMC Allied Health Professional Privileges prior to hire. Active National Provider Identifier (NPI). Compensation and Benefits

Total compensation for the Nurse Practitioner II role is approximately $140,000–$180,000 per year. Conditions of Employment
