Overview As a leader on the Student Services team, the Assistant Director collaborates with the Associate Director for Student Support to create enrollment yield and student onboarding initiatives, offer student leadership and engagement programs, initiate student IDBEA education and projects, and plan student returnee programming. The Assistant Director is responsible for specialized efforts to engage external students and is a key contributor in providing insight into how NYU supports, develops, and executes an external student enrollment strategy. This position is central to OGPs enrollment initiative and will engage with external students, families, study abroad advisors, and members of the NYU community. The Assistant Director promotes IDBEA and global perspective by supporting students from various cultural backgrounds to enrich the learning environment. The role includes leadership and operational management, participation in study abroad fairs, and external school visits. This full‑time position is based on the NYU campus in New York City and requires regular domestic US travel.

Responsibilities

Operationalize student enrollment processes for NYU and external students who will enroll at NYU's global sites.

Manage relationships with external students and university partners to increase participation.

Create opportunities to engage students before, during, and after study‑away participation.

Provide leadership and operational management, participate in study abroad fairs and external school visits.

Engage with external students, families, study abroad advisors, and the NYU community to promote IDBEA and a global perspective.

Required Education

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.

Preferred Education

Master's Degree in marketing, promotions, sales, international education, or related field.

Required Experience

5+ years progressively responsible experience in admissions, recruitment, external relations, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience in student services/student life or advising.

Preferred Experience

7+ years of relevant experience.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

Superior communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Ability to market programs successfully.

Comfort traveling independently.

Knowledge of computer software.

Knowledge of higher education programs outside of the US.

Qualifications In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $75,000.00 to USD $95,000.00. NYU considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, and market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, and other compensation.
