Job Overview The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College invites applications for a full-time in-person, tenure track Assistant Professor in Spanish in the Language and Culture Studies Department, intended to begin on August 15, 2026.
Essential Functions
Prepare and teach up to 12 credit hours per semester during Fall and Spring semester. Courses include beginning and intermediate Spanish, introductory courses to second language acquisition, linguistics, and culture.
Actively participate in shared governance and service at the department, college, and university level, such as, but not limited to, representing the department by serving on standing and ad hoc committees.
Engage in (1) discipline-specific and/or scholarship of teaching and learning research and (2) professional development activities. Examples include but are not limited to publishing in peer-reviewed journals, attending and presenting at seminars/conferences.
Develop curricula and/or initiatives to support the department, such as but not limited to developing courses for the first two years of university study.
Minimum Requirements Prior to effective date of appointment, all the following:
Master's degree in Spanish or related field
Near-native fluency in Spanish
Two (2) academic years of professional development, or research in Second Language Acquisition or Linguistics, or a combination of both
Two (2) academic years of college-level teaching experience in Spanish, including both in person and online coursework in any combination
