Responsibilities
Sabre Systems is seeking a temporary full‑time Sr. Systems Engineer (Architect) who will provide support to the H‑53 Heavy Lift Helicopter Program Office (PMA‑261) at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in systems architecture development, leveraging the DoDAF framework to support enterprise‑level integration, design, and modernization of naval aviation systems. The program is providing systems engineering support of DoDAF Framework – Net Ready Key Performance Parameter (KPP) Architecture Data for the H‑53 Heavy Lift Helicopter.
Lead the development and documentation of DoDAF 2.0 compliant architecture views for naval avionics systems.
Collaborate with Navy stakeholders, engineers, and program managers to define system capabilities, requirements, and interfaces.
Support the development of the Information Support Plan (ISP) document.
Provide technical leadership in avionics architecture design, with a focus on interoperability, scalability, and system‑of‑systems integration.
Interpret and apply DoDAF 2.0 views to communicate technical data to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
Ensure compliance with DoD standards, acquisition processes, and cybersecurity requirements.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing across the organization.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
10+ years of experience in systems architecture or avionics systems development, preferably supporting DoD or Navy programs.
Expert knowledge of DoDAF 2.0 and its application to complex systems.
Proven experience in avionics system design, integration, and support.
Strong understanding of Navy acquisition processes and lifecycle management.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Temporary Full‑time position.
U.S. DoD security clearance at the Secret level or higher
Compensation At Sabre Systems, LLC, compensation is based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, and contract‑specific requirements. The general salary range for this position is $148,330.00‑164,420.00; however, final compensation will be determined by individual qualifications and applicable contract terms.
