Job Summary
Assist physicians by transcribing accurate histories and physical exams in the examination room.
Document diagnoses, symptoms, follow‑up instructions, prescriptions, laboratory tests, radiology tests, medications, and other orders as directed by the physician.
Record any procedures performed by the physician and maintain clear, legible documentation of patient encounters.
Maintain professional appearance and conduct, adhere to work practices, and establish effective relationships with physicians, staff, and management.
Responsibilities
Transcribe patient orders and document all physician orders, including medication orders, laboratory tests, radiology tests, and other orders.
Maintain accurate documentation of medical encounters and orders in the medical record system.
Monitor and document any procedures performed by the physician.
Provide high‑quality transcription, documentation, and documentation to aid physicians in patient care.
Effectively cope with typical job stress while remaining compliant with policies and procedures.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Skills and Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Related experience in medical transcription or clinical documentation preferred.
Understanding of medical terminology, physical exam process, and documentation practices beneficial.
Computer proficiency and ability to learn new applications quickly.
Legible penmanship and accurate record‑keeping skills.
Organizational skills with focus on tracking patient care and improving patient flow.
Professional demeanor and strong communication skills in English, in person, by phone, and in writing.
Adherence to privacy considerations for patients and families.
Desired Qualifications
Ability to multitask efficiently and effectively in a busy and stressful environment.
Calm and effective behavior in a busy or stressful situation.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians and peers.
Minimum one‑year experience of background in the medical field desired.
Work Schedule Mon‑Fri 8:00‑5:00 with occasional overtime available.
