Semi-Monthly Salary: $2,033.06 / Annual Salary $48,793.44
Scheduled Hours: 7:30‑4:00 or 8‑4:30 pm (Off Saturday/Sunday)
We are seeking a positive, energetic, and caring individual for our open, full‑time Art Therapist/LPC position. We aspire to be a team of talented, compassionate professionals helping our clients in their personal journey of healing, resilience, and recovery through evidence‑based practice. Successful candidates will demonstrate compassion and an ability to work in a trauma‑informed and recovery‑based environment.
St. Louis Forensic Treatment Center provides services to a population primarily comprised of adults 18 years and older who have been committed to the Department of Mental Health by a criminal court under the mental health provisions of Chapter 552 of the Revised Statutes of the State of Missouri either for Competency Restoration, or upon an adjudication of Not Guilty by Reason of Mental Disease or Defect, or upon a finding of Permanent Incompetence to Stand Trial. There are 180 clients at the South Campus and 75 clients at the North Campus. Clients receive a variety of treatments with an overall goal to develop the skills needed to safely and successfully return to a meaningful life in the community.
Primary Job Responsibilities
Completing assessments, developing individualized goals and treatment plans, and maintaining related documentation
Planning and implementing a wide range of treatment groups and one‑on‑ones designed to meet the social, emotional, and cognitive needs of clients
Collaborating/Communicating with treatment teams
Participating in multi‑disciplinary team meetings, program meetings, and department meetings
Planning and possibly leading Central Activity Therapy events related to creative arts (e.g., art shows twice per year per campus)
Helping clients complete submissions for the Director’s Creativity Showcase
Minimum Qualifications
Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
Board Certified Registered Art Therapist (ATR‑BC)
