Licensed Practical Nurse (Nights 7p-7a)
Riverside Recovery of Tampa is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide nighttime care from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Position Summary The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) partners with the RN, ARNP, Director of Nursing, and Medical Director to ensure the safest and most comfortable experience for all clients of Riverside Recovery of Tampa. The LPN also works closely with Behavioral Health Technicians (BHT) and assists in behavioral management as needed.
Shift Difference:
$5.00/hr for nights
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care to individuals struggling with substance abuse and addiction.
Possess essential skills such as communication and critical thinking.
Obtain medical history for admission processes.
Communicate comfortably with Physicians, PA-C, ARNP, RNs, and Pharmacists.
Assist physicians in developing treatment plans.
Place PPD and obtain blood work.
Obtain vital signs and complete detox assessments (CIWA, CIWA‑B, COWS) every 4 hours to monitor patients for signs of withdrawal.
Document full assessments (completed on each shift or every 12 hours) with a nursing note attached.
Administer scheduled and PRN medications.
Accurately complete a narcotic medication count.
Educate patients on medication protocols.
Multi‑task and delegate effectively.
Knowledgeable and efficient with using EMR.
Implement verbal physician orders and authenticate in writing within a reasonable time, including them in the patient record.
Accurately report pertinent information during shift report.
Maintain a safe and sanitary environment.
Apply infection control techniques and universal precautions.
Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions from a variety of data, dealing with several abstract and concrete variables.

Qualifications
Graduate from an NLN‑approved nursing school.
Licensed to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Florida.
CPR / TACT Certifications.
Experience working in a fast‑paced nursing environment and collaborating with interdepartmental staff.
Client and customer focus.
Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
EMR knowledge.
Strong understanding of HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.
Considerable knowledge/experience in nursing philosophy, policy, practices, and procedures.
Ability to place an IV within 90 days of hire.
Maintain current CPR certification.
Basic knowledge of infection control.
Current and active nursing license in the State of Florida.
Ability to accurately administer medication.
