Automotive Shop Manager

Job Description The following is a general list of duties required of the service shop manager position and is not all inclusive as several other duties may be required.
Monitor shop workflow to ensure technicians are assigned the correct job based on skill level.
Coordinates work levels to ensure shop efficiency standards are met.
Monitor and manage the computer work management system to confirm work is performed in a timely manner
Create and maintain technician schedules for sufficient personnel levels in the shop during peak work hours.
Prepare, review and maintain reports detailing WIP, technician production and “on-hold” job status
Properly communicate work order status to senior service management team to guarantee customer’s expectations are met.
Monitor OSHA compliance to ensure proper disposal of waste materials and availability of first aid supplies
Maintain timely oil tank and compressor inspections
Hire and develop service technicians
Job Requirements
Previous automotive service department experience as a technician, advisor or manager required
Exceptional organization and time management skills
High energy, positive personality
Ability to deal with multiple tasks in a professional and courteous manner
Ability to work directly with the diagnostic specialist, technicians, service advisors and parts personnel.
Must be computer savvy and have the ability to work within the Microsoft Office Suite, as well as the dealership’s DMS system.
