Overview Sentara BelleHarbour Ambulatory Surgery Center is hiring a Direct Care RN II for a full‑time day shift in Suffolk, VA.

No Nights, Weekends, Call, or Major Holidays!

Hours and schedule: Monday to Friday. Variable scheduling will be either five 8‑hour days or four 9‑hour days within operating hours of the facility based on unit need.

Operating hours are primarily Monday to Friday from 5:30 am to 6 pm. Variations may occur due to business need or patient care requirements.

The Ambulatory Surgery Center The center offers high‑quality care within a collaborative environment that includes registered nurses, surgical techs, sterile services, and support staff, all overseen by a highly trained and experienced management team. The center features a dedicated admit‑recovery area and a 6‑bed post‑anesthesia care unit (PACU). The center is expanding services and currently has one dedicated OR, with expectations of a second OR in the coming months. The facility provides a range of surgical services, including orthopedic procedures, gynecology, plastics, ENT, urology, general, and podiatry. The center sees between 3 and 8 procedures per day.

Staff will be expected to float to Sentara Obici Hospital Surgical Services to support operating‑room staffing on lower case‑volume days.

Responsibilities The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice encompass assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation. In addition, the RN demonstrates professional performance through ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence‑based practice, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.

Education

Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)

Bachelor of Science in Nursing – BSN or MSN (preferred)

Certification/Licensure

Registered Nursing License – required

ACLS required within 1 year of hire

PALS required within 1 year of hire

BLS required within 90 days of hire

Experience

Pre‑/Post/PACU experience in an acute care setting or outpatient surgery (required)

Previous operating or procedural surgery experience (preferred)

1 year of experience in acute nursing care (required)

Manages complex cases in fast‑paced environments

Communication with patients and providers
