Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Charge Nurse and/or Department Manager, the Patient Care Tech is a member of the Preoperative team and monitors all patients in the Surgery Department. The role provides support in procuring equipment, room set-up, turnover, patient transports, transfers, resupply for sterile and unsterile supplies, equipment and other duties as directed. They project a good public image and are self-motivating individuals who maintain a courteous and professional attitude. Qualifications
Ability to sufficiently read, speak and write English for communication and charting purposes, write reports, effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, patients and the general public. Ability to apply, measure and understand the concept of electrical impulse timing and the use of the appropriate tools. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; work under supervision and follow instructions; pleasant telephone manners; neat and legible handwriting. Minimum one year prior Patient Care Tech experience in a health care setting preferred. High school diploma or equivalent; medical terminology course preferred; computer education preferred. Current BLS certification. CPI required within 30 days of hire. Benefits
