Brightpoint Community College invites applications for a full-time, 9-month nursing faculty position. The college seeks qualified individuals who are passionate about teaching a variety of nursing courses within DNA, LPN, and/or RN programs, delivered in face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats.

Teaching Responsibilities:

Teaching the equivalent of 15 credit hours per semester

Engaging students in the learning process

Providing clinical supervision

Developing courses and curriculum

Advising students

Maintaining accurate student records

Faculty members also fully participate in nursing program development and evaluation, college activities and committees, and represent Brightpoint at community events and professional opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (must be enrolled in Master’s Degree program), Master’s Degree in Nursing preferred. Must have several years of experience in medical, surgical and/or pediatric nursing, excellent oral and written communications skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within and across institutional teams, coupled with a strong commitment to the mission of the community college. Commonwealth of Virginia nursing license or compact state nursing license. Successful completion and passing of a criminal background check.

Additional Considerations: Experience teaching at the college level, ability to use instructional technology, and knowledge of Virginia BON regulation and ACEN accreditation criteria.
