Overview
Candidate will complete the design of structural detail parts, assemblies, and installations, as well as systems installations for peculiar versions of C-130, C-5, P-3 and S-3 aircraft. This position is in the C-130J Airframe Design team working on a number of customer mods that include working on various complex designs with vendor coordination. Position also supports various special projects requiring detail CATIA V5 modeling. Responsibilities
Drive design solutions with little direction. Coordinate with wiring/avionics and VSS design inputs during the design process. Coordinate with manufacturing as necessary to ensure the design is producible and meets manufacturability requirements. Hold periodic design reviews and coordinate updates as the design matures. Manage drawing coordination and signoff to ensure the design meets cost, schedule, and performance. Develop layouts, prepare engineering drawings, and coordinate activities with affected organizations. Use knowledge of configuration management, drafting/drawing conventions, and aerospace specifications and procedures to develop design solutions that meet all customer requirements. Address issues across design development, fabrication, assembly, flight test, in-service, and post-delivery modifications. Work with minimal direct supervision and drive design solutions with input from the IPT. Support manufacturing operations and customers in resolving technical problems related to the aircraft structure and systems. Coordinate efforts across Planning, Tooling, Stress, Materials & Processes (M&P), Reliability and Maintainability (R&M), Materiel, Flight Sciences, Test, Manufacturing, and other Design Product Focus Teams (PFTs) to ensure designs meet customer and derived requirements. Required skills
BS degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering 9 years minimum Aircraft Design/Test/Support experience Experience in CAD Systems: CATIA V5 and CCD C-130, C-5, P-3, and/or S-3 experience; Production Line support experience Familiarity with mod design C-130 experience is highly desired; only candidates with C-130 experience should be submitted at the max pay rate Benefits
