Interventional Radiology Technologist (ORMC) Orlando Health is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist for the Orlando Regional Medical Center location. As the Interventional Radiology Technologist, you will be responsible for providing quality patient care when performing diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention while adhering to radiation safety principles.

Shift/ Schedule: 4x10s; Monday through Friday; 7:00am to 5:30pm

On Call Requirement: You will be on call one weekend per month, Friday through Sunday. Additionally one day per week (weekday) on‑call requirement. You must be able to respond to the Hospital in 30 minutes.

Responsibilities

Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complimentary to quality care.

Delivers appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures and protocols.

Assists the physician in producing diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention.

Assist physician in all procedures as necessary.

Ensures that the patient’s education of procedure performed, needs, safety and comfort are met while in their care.

Complies with all state and federal regulations applicable to each modality.

Adheres to Orlando Health mission statements and commitment to excellence standards.

Assesses the patient’s physical condition and age specific needs.

Provides instructions that achieve patient cooperation and desired results.

Performs proper patient identification, acquires patient’s clinical history and assures that the information is accurately documented and communicated to appropriate team members.

Positions patient, equipment, associated devices and manipulates technical factors to achieve high quality images for interpretation.

Assesses diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation and patient identification, ensuring that all relative anatomy is demonstrated.

Applies principles of radiation safety to minimize exposure to patients, self and others.

Comprehends and complies with Quality Control standards and participates in all Quality Control tasks.

Demonstrates proficiency in contrast medication administration with and without use of power injectors.

Applies sterile techniques and, appropriate standard precautions in utilizing Personal Protective equipment (PPE) to prevent cross contamination in accordance with OH policy and training procedures.

Administers medical aid as required in cases of adverse reaction to contrast medication and/or other emergencies.

Assists in supervision of student technologists and training of new technologists.

Utilizes all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.

Demonstrates proficiency in supply usage, charging and documentation.

Ensures safety of all customers.

Locates, uses and troubleshoots complex technical equipment/instruments.

Acts as a resource for its operation and training.

Maintains use of customer service skills in communication with all Orlando Health staff, visitors and co‑workers.

Maintains adequate inventory levels of supplies, equipment, resources, tools and forms.

Performs as a mentor/preceptor for new staff while maintaining high standards of patient care, documentation, and professionalism.

Understands application and technical aspects of all equipment and supplies used in all procedures.

Ensures case turnover time to be within established department standards by maintaining proper workflow and prioritizing optimize patient care.

Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards. Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Education/Training

Graduate of accredited school of Radiologic Technology.

Licensure/Certification

Valid Certified Radiologic Technologist licensure by the State of Florida and Valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification and Maintains current BLS/Healthcare provider certification.
