Overview Texas Oncology is looking for a Oncology Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) – Gyn/Onc to join our team! This position will support the Katy, Texas location. This role is Monday‑Friday, no weekends or holidays, and no call.

This position will be either a Level I, II, or Senior based on candidate experience.

What does the Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) do? Under minimal supervision, the RN provides professional nursing care for patients according to national and company standards, including physiological, psychological, and developmental considerations across all age groups. The RN collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to assess and manage patient/family needs and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program.

Responsibilities

Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.

Assess health status through patient interviews regarding current status and medical history.

Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and instructional material.

Provide psychosocial support to patients and families.

Facilitate clinical operations and patient care.

Manage medication refill requests, record information in patient charts.

Schedule consultations, pre‑testing, diagnostic tests, referrals, and future appointments.

Triage patient phone calls and document relevant information.

Facilitate communication between patient/family and interdisciplinary team, coordinating related services.

Assist patients in locating community resources.

Inter‑professional collaboration.

Act as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will have the following background and experience:

Education/Training Level I

Graduate from an accredited professional nursing program; BSN preferred.

RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Maintain continuing education requirements.

0–3 years nursing experience; oncology experience strongly preferred.

Level II

Minimum 3 years of nursing experience; oncology experience strongly preferred.

Level Senior

Minimum 5 years of nursing experience, including at least 1 year in oncology strongly preferred.

Oncology certification preferred.
