Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring recent L&D and OR experience and the ability to float between campuses.
Responsibilities
Work in a 24-bed Labor & Delivery unit with 2 operating rooms in a hospital setting
Handles c-sections, vaginal deliveries, and triage cases
Patient ratio of 1:1-2 for L&D
Expected to float to Mother-Baby (MB) and Postpartum (PP) units as needed across multiple campuses
Administers magnesium, insulin, and pitocin drips as part of patient care
Epic EMR used and Epic experience required
Three 12-hour day shifts per week, totaling 36 hours
Working every third weekend and rotating holiday coverage is required
No call requirements
Hospital provides scrubs for clinical staff
Team manages approximately 150-350 deliveries per month depending on campus
Travelers must be flexible to float between Iowa Methodist, Iowa Lutheran, and Iowa Methodist MC campuses based on unit needs
May float to MB/PP units in addition to L&D duties
Not accepting first-time travelers for this role
Requirements
Active IA or compact RN license required
Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN
Minimum two years of current Labor & Delivery experience in a hospital setting, including operating room exposure
Experience with c-sections, vaginal deliveries, and triage is required
Previous completion of at least one travel assignment within the past 12 months required
Epic EMR experience required
Must provide a recent supervisory reference from within the past 2 years
