Overview Behavioral Health RNs provide holistic nursing care through mental health assessment and treatment of patients with psychiatric symptoms, cognitive and/or behavioral challenges. What You Will Do
Practice in the home and community to provide behavioral health treatment
Conduct psychosocial assessments and evaluate living conditions of patients, social determinants of health, and develop treatment recommendations
Provide advocacy, psychoeducation, cognitive/behavioral interventions, monitor mental status, emotional support, brief psychotherapy, and/or family‑based interventions
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to achieve successful patient outcomes
Licenses and Certifications
Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New York State, required
NYS non‑Driver photo ID card may be required
Education
Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in nursing required; master’s degree in psychiatric nursing preferred
Work Experience
Minimum of one year of recent inpatient, outpatient or home care psychiatric experience
Valid driver's license or strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skill
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Pay Range Per Visit If you are applying to the per diem per visit version of this job, the hiring range is as follows: $69.34 – $110 per visit.
Pay Range USD $112,209.00 – USD $138,409.00 /Yr.
