Overview

Behavioral Health RNs provide holistic nursing care through mental health assessment and treatment for patients with psychiatric symptoms, cognitive and/or behavioral challenges. Our nurses deliver direct treatment and provide consultation, education, and support across VNS Health. They collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and coordinate ongoing care. Conducts psychosocial assessments and living conditions of patients and social determinants of health and develops treatment recommendations. Provides advocacy, psychoeducation, cognitive/behavioral interventions, monitoring of mental status, emotional support, brief psychotherapy, and or family based interventions. Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to achieve successful patient outcomes. Qualifications Licenses and Certifications: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New York State, required NYS non Driver photo ID card may be required Education: Bachelor or Associate degree in nursing required, masters degree in psychiatric nursing preferred Work Experience: Minimum of one year of recent inpatient, outpatient or home care psychiatric experience; valid driver's license or strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skill Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Ability to work independently and as part of a team Pay Range per Visit: If you are applying to the per diem per visit version of this job, the hiring range is as follows: 69.34 to 110 per visit.
