Responsibilities
Prepares tissue sections for microscopic examination using a variety of techniques, including fixation, embedding, cutting, and staining tissue slides to achieve high diagnostic quality. Prioritizes and accurately performs all designated departmental procedures, including embedding, microtomy, staining (special stains), decalcification, coverslipping, and labeling. Operates precision equipment and works with a variety of reagents and chemicals to make tissue abnormalities visible with a microscope. Prepares and maintains solutions required for all procedures. Identifies, labels, and processes tissue according to specifications. Maintains equipment, cleaning, changing solutions, taking temperatures, and replenishing supplies and solutions as needed. Responsible for maintaining compliance with all applicable state and federal regulatory agencies. Qualifications
Minimum Education: Related undergraduate study Biology or Chemistry Minimum Licenses: None Minimum Certifications: American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) issued certification or eligibility within one year of employment. Preferred Experience: 2 years in a clinical laboratory. Shift & Compensation
Shift: Tuesday through Saturday, 9:30 PM to 6:00 AM. Shift Differential Applies. Hourly rate range: $34.30 - $42.76. Application
